Infiniti’s newest midsize luxury SUV introduces a fastback silhouette to the brand’s lineup, signaling a shift in both design philosophy and ambition. Built in Smyrna, Tennessee, the QX65 draws a direct line back to the original Infiniti FX, a vehicle that helped define the crossover segment nearly two decades ago.

The first thing that commands attention is the shape. Coupe-style SUVs have become a crowded category. The QX65 avoids the usual compromises. Its sweeping roofline and wide stance create something cohesive and resolved.
Infiniti calls this philosophy “Artistry in Motion.” The roofline flows into a rear spoiler, muscular fenders emphasize stance, and a full-width LED tail lamp creates visual width. Even the hidden rear wiper contributes to a cleaner aerodynamic form.
The new Sunfire Red paint uses a three-layer process with gold-coated glass flakes. The result is a finish that shifts dramatically in sunlight, reminiscent of high-end finishes seen in vehicles like the Nissan GT-R.

Inside, Infiniti leans into material quality. Quilted leather, open-pore wood, and layered textures create an environment that feels more like a lounge than a traditional SUV.
The Autograph trim features semi-aniline leather and kimono-inspired stitching. Ambient lighting spans 64 colors and reflects seasonal themes rooted in Japanese design philosophy.
Despite its coupe-like shape, practicality remains intact. Cargo capacity reaches 67.7 cubic feet, aligning with expectations for a midsize SUV.
Technology That Works the Way You Expect
The dashboard is dominated by dual 12.3-inch displays, supported by Google Built-In. This includes navigation, voice control, and app integration.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, alongside Qi2 wireless charging delivering up to 15 watts. Magnetic alignment and active cooling solve two common usability issues.

Infiniti partnered with Klipsch to deliver a 20-speaker, 1,200-watt system. Titanium dome tweeters and a dedicated subwoofer create a wide soundstage.
